For more than 16 years. Eric Leong has been head chef at Sushi Ya. He has been working hard to accommodate his customers and welcome them to his highly successful restaurant on Franklin Avenue in the heart of garden city.
Now as a testimony to the popularity this eatery SUSHI YA has expanded to the community next door. The new Sushi Ya is located at 2311 Jericho Turnpike, in the Pathmark shopping center in Garden City Park.
The new restaurant has been open just for a few months, but not to worry it features the same exquisitely prepared dishes that have a following in garden city. There are also some new dishes designed to become classics.
The high quality sushi is always fresh and presented with charm and elegance. The chef’s specials include the “iron tuna” spicy tuna wrapped with seared tuna in a plum citrus sauce. the traditional favorites are also available, such as salmon roll, red yellow tail tuna and California rolls .
For Japanese steakhouse fans, there’s the eight table hibachi room. It’s another affordable alternative for Japanese food lovers. With lunch starting at $9 and dinner at $14, choose from hibachi favorites such as Kobe steak, filet mignon and lobster tail.
Of course no hibachi experience can be complete without a little liquid refreshment, so you’ll want to order from the full bar. The choices include premium wines, liquors and just imagine 20 different kinds of sake.

Sushi Ya is open for lunch from Monday to Thursday from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Dinner is served everyday Monday to Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm, Fridays from 5 to 11 pm, Saturday 3-11 pm and Sunday 3:00 to 9:30 pm.
